Educational Turn: Towards Contemporary Theories of Education in Art and Culture

Резиме: Рад има за циљ да представи образовни обрт као новију тенденцију савремене уметности, којом уметност прелази у поље образовања, са идејом да га прошири и учини местом потенцијалности, са којег је могуће промишљати, критиковати и прекидати доминантни поредак неолибералног капиталистичког система и успоставити другачији поредак који води ка еманципацији. У том смислу се анализира, преиспитује и теоретизује образовни обрт у савременој уметности, критички сагледава друштвени, културални и економски контекст који је до њега довео, сагледавају се циљеви у теорији и пракси, те разматрају његови потенцијали. Истраживање је засновано на тези да савременим светом уметности управља тржишна, капиталистичка логика којом се све претвара у потрошну робу, те да пут којим уметност покушава да се бори иде преко сопственог укидања, то јест – укидања саме уметности. У том самоукидању, уметност прелази у поље образовања, где покреће производњу малих, локалних, онтолошких знања. Таква знања имају политичко-еманципаторски потенцијал да узурпирају хегемони поредак који дефинише уметничко образовање, те тако стварају ново проширено поље образовања. Стога, образовање постаје платформа која нуди нове могућности окупљања, учествовања, преговарања, трансформација и рефлексија које се дешавају између окупљених актера различитих профила који чине равноправне саговорнике.

Summary: The paper aims to present an educational turn as a new tendency of contemporary art by which the art takes over the field of education in order to expand it and make it the site of potentiality, the site, from which is possible to reflect, criticize and interrupt the dominant order of neoliberal capitalism and to establish different order that leads to emancipation. In this sense, author reconsiders and theorizes the educational turn in contemporary art, critically examines social, cultural and economic context that led to it, reviews its aims in theory and practice, as well as its potentials. The research is based on thesis that market, capitalistic logic rules the contemporary art transforming everything into commodity, so that the way that art tries to fight goes through self-exclusion, i.e. exclusion of the art itself. Through this process of self-exclusion, art goes into the field of education where it starts production of small, local, ontological knowledge. That knowledge has political and emancipatory potential of usurping hegemonic order that defines art education, thus creating new, expanded field of education. Therefore, education is becoming the platform that offers new possibilities of encounters, participations, negotiations, transformations and reflections that occur between different social actors as equal interlocutors.
