New Trends in Education – Out-of-Classroom Teaching and Learning in Digital Environment

Резиме: Последњих десетак година сведоци смо сталног исказивања забринутости због недовољне физичке активности ученика и времена које они проводе уз дигиталне уређаје у школи и ван ње. Због тога се намеће питање да ли ванучионичка настава у дигиталном окружењу може да разреши тензију насталу услед пречесте, предуге и често неадекватне употребе дигиталних технологија од стране ученика и њихових наставника.
У раду су размотрена теоријска полазишта, могућности и изазови коришћења дигиталне технологије у ванучионичком наставном окружењу. Анализиране су заједничке образовне и васпитне вредности дигиталне технологије и ванучионичких наставних активности у контексту актуелних стратегија и законских решења у области образовања у Србији.
Посебна пажња посвећена је мобилним апликацијама као најдоступнијем дигиталном образовном ресурсу у ванучионичком окружењу. Предложени су критеријуми за вредновање мобилних апликација узимајући у обзир Стандарде квалитета уџбеника и адаптиране CEELTES и CARNet скале процене квалитета софтвера. Циљ рада је био да се изврши квалитативна анализа мобилних апликација које се могу користити у ванучионичком окружењу на млађем основношколском узрасту. Спроведена анализа узоркованих десет мобилних апликација показује да су наставницима на располагању бесплатне мобилне апликације задовољавајућих дидактичко-методичких и техничких квалитета које се могу применити за реализацију прописаних наставних садржаја у ванучионичком окружењу. Значајније унапређење ванучионичке наставе у дигиталном окружењу можемо очекивати развојем квалитетних мобилних апликација домаћих аутора, повећањем броја апликација које имају дијакритичку подршку за српски језик, као и развојем дигитално-методичких
компетенција наставника.

Summary: Over the past decade there has been a growing concern regarding physical inactivity of students and the amount of time they spend with digital devices during school hours and outside the school. This gives rise to the question as to whether out-of-classroom teaching and learning in digital environment can resolve the tension created by the students’ and teachers’ too frequent, time-consuming, and often inadequate, use of digital technology. The paper looks at theoretical grounds, opportunities and challenges of using digital technology in the out-of-classroom teaching and learning environment. It analyses common educational values of digital technology and out-of-classroom activities in the context of the current strategies and laws regulating the area of education in Serbia. Mobile applications as the most readily available digital educational resource in the out-ofclassroom environment were in the focus of the research. Using the Quality Standards for textbooks and adapted CEELTES and CARNet software quality scales, the criteria for evaluating these mobile applications is proposed. The aim of this paper was to carry out a qualitative analysis of mobile applications that can be used outside the classroom in primary school education. The conducted analysis of ten sampled mobile applications indicate
that free mobile applications of satisfactory technical, didactic and methodological quality are available to teachers and can be used for teaching the compulsory educational content outside the classroom. Good quality mobile applications developed by local authors, more applications with diacritical support in Serbian Language, and the development of digital-methodological competences of teachers are three prerequisites that will certainly improve the out-of-classroom teaching and learning in digital environment.
