Оно има посебно истакнуто место у реалистичном мaтематичком образовању (Treff ers, Gravemeijer, Van den Heuvel-Panhuizen, Romberg, Usiskin).

Summary: Th e skill of transmitting the problem from the world of reality into the world of Mathematics is an important element of mathematical knowledge gained during schooling. Th is has particularly signifi cant place in realistic mathematical education (Treff ers, Gravemeijer, Van den Heuvel-Panhuizen, Romberg, Usiskin). In this paper, we are dealing with mathematical modelling in initial Mathematics teaching. First, we determine epistemological meaning of the term. Second, we present and analyse examples of mathematical modelling in real mathematical education. Th ird, we analyse the place of modelling in the actual curriculum. Finally, we analyse possible directions of development of the curriculum of Mathematics based on the comparative analysis of mathematical modelling in our programme and real mathematical education. Th e aim of the paper is to point at the signifi cance of development of abilities of application of mathematical modelling in solving problems.

Key words: teaching Mathematics, mathematical modelling, real mathematical education.
