Summary: The aim of this theoretical research is representing, analysis of moral, and religion within pragmatism of John Dewy. The need for choosing the stated subject of research is imposed by its importance, insufficient research and necessity of re-examining in modern epoch of crisis of the value system, particularly in the area of pedagogical work and education. On one side, it was necessary to see the essence and relation between moral and religion in thought of Dewy; on the other side, it was necessary to understand their connection and significance for comprehending philosophy, science and upbringing. It was shown that he consistently built his general, and particularly pedagogical and philosophical concept, in which we can recognise the most important elements, a not always acceptable analogy between moral rights and moral principles, religion and being religious and educational institutions and pedagogical work. Stated distinctions and their interpretation are fundamental for understanding Dewey’s complete thought and they show deep introspection into his specific and versatile relation towards moral, science, philosophy and education, and particularly towards religion.

Key words: religion, moral, philosophy, upbringing, John Dewy
